If your yoga session is almost here, then now is a good time to go over some of our rules, regulations and recommendations.
Session Rules:
Please arrive about 15 minutes early to sign our waivers and review the session rules.
Parking will be on the sides of driveway please leave the center isle way clear for those who may wish to leave promptly.
All participants must be 14 years or older there will be no small children allowed on the farm for safety of the animals and the children themselves, while baby goats might not injure kids, electric fences, machinery, and the other farm animals all can pose significant risk to small children for this reason they are not permitted.
Smoking in any form is not permitted on the farm including vapes.
Grain and granola in excess can kill baby goats, please do not bring anything to feed the animals there will be time at the end to potentially feed the animals with food we will provide. Please be gentle with us, we are just babies, absolutely no hitting, kicking or abuse to the animals will be tolerated.
Absolutely no jewelry in any form can be worn, this includes necklaces and earrings, All jewelry must be removed before participating, goats have a tendency to like things that dangle and sparkle and you may not like how it is returned to you if one of the babies eat it.
PLEASE No insect repellant or perfume is to be worn, baby goats can get very sick, even die from the chemicals in these items if they lick you, and that’s going to happen, trust me. General yoga rules should still be followed including being respectful of others, not talking loudly and leaving cell phones in your car, there will be time for photos at the end.
There are no lockers to store your valuables here at the farm please secure your belongings and your vehicles before entering.
You must stay with the group at all times for your own safety, and the safety of our animals, at no time will anyone be permitted to enter a locked gate into a pasture without an escort, at the end of the session there will be an opportunity to take photos with a few particular animals which we will bring to the group.
Session recommendations:
Goat yoga is conducted on the ground in a farm environment there will be clean straw down before each session but it is highly recommended you wear older clothing that you won’t worry about getting dirty.
Baby goats can do unexpected things at times so a change of clothes may be something you wish to bring as well .
All session mats will be cleaned and sanitized before hand and water bottles will be provided for your convenience, we will have sanitizer and wipes available at the end as well.
Baby goats often like to chew on random things thus no jewelry is permitted, Wells and his friends also have a tendency to want to nibble on stray hairs so it is recommended that longer hair be up in a way to prevent you from becoming everyones favorite snack.
Baby goats nibble at things that look like bottle nipples especially fingers we are not trying to hurt you just see if you have any food and they lack the strength to injure.
If at any time you feel uncomfortable we encourage you to take a break from yoga you can stop and leave the pen or just give some scratchies to whomever is being naughty and they will usually move on, but please don’t hit push or kick at us, most of us are 15 pounds or smaller.
Goats in general have very limited control over when and where they use the bathroom when going number 2, baby goats don’t even know they are doing it when it happens which is why goats can’t be house broken, fortunately it is usually tiny pellets that are mostly dry in nature, it shouldn’t stick to or stain clothing in any way, and can be brushed off if it were to happen. Above all else goat yoga will be geared towards beginner level participation so that everyone can join without pressure, remember this class is intended to be fun so just relax and enjoy the day.
Sincerely
Mike and Sandra
